TEDxYouth held it’s first event in its new home of the Sydney Opera House in 2016. It needed a fresh new social campaign to inspire millennials to sign up.
Our research showed us that though they lived in one of the most difficult times to be a young person in history, this demographic remained steadfastly positive, convinced they could affect social change.
We took the native platform of Instagram and flipped it upside down, asking our audience to write the future they wanted to see, as opposed to the sometimes depressing present.
Our #wordsfromfuture hashtag was picked up by influencers across fashion, art and youth and the event sold out in record time.
